Our story
Four decades of imaging in the Algarve.
CRMA opened in Faro in 1986 and has served the region without interruption ever since. These are the milestones that define our journey.
First CT scanner south of the Tagus.
CRMA introduces computed tomography to the region, widening the range of exams available locally.
The Algarve's first magnetic resonance scanner.
Installing the region's first MRI scanner cements the clinic's reputation and gives rise to the name "Clínica de Ressonância Magnética do Algarve".
Philips Incisive CT, 128-slice.
New CT scanner with a full cardiac package (Calcium Scoring, Coronary Artery Analysis), launching Cardiac CT angiography as a service.
Philips MR 5300 BlueSeal MRI, helium-free.
Migration to a sustainable magnetic resonance system, without conventional-volume liquid helium, with AI-driven SmartSpeed technology.

Diagnosis
We carry out medical imaging exams on referral, across thirteen modalities, with a report produced by a radiologist.

Technical rigour
We operate up-to-date equipment, subject to quality control and radiation protection under the Portuguese and European legislation in force.

In-person, phone and email support in PT, EN and FR. An environment designed to ease the anxiety an imaging exam can bring.

Agreements with the country's main health organisations and simple booking by form, phone or email.

CRMA's offering covers the main areas of medical imaging and functional testing. Every modality operates under quality control and radiation protection compliant with the legislation in force.
X-ray imaging

- Interventional Radiology — CT-guided lumbar-spine injections; ultrasound-guided injections and drainages, for pain management

Doctors, radiographers and visiting specialists.
CRMA is led by a radiologist and has a multidisciplinary team of radiologists, radiographers and reception and administrative staff.
For specific areas, it welcomes visiting specialists in cardiology, respiratory medicine, gynaecology and obstetrics, vascular surgery and neurology, who provide exams and consultations in their respective specialties.
